How to lubricate machinery

time2012/10/08

All machines have components that function in rotation. To keep the rotation process efficient, the use of lubricant is necessary. Without lubrication, the machinery parts can wear quickly and cause serious damage. There are many machinery-based lubricants. All of them have different properties and are designed for specific reasons. Application of lubricant to machinery is a simple task.
Instructions:
1. Inspect machinery moving joints on a schedule to identify whether lubricant is needed. Machine components that move in any kind of rotation require lubricant to move against each other without causing damage. Different lubricants have different wear rates
2. Choose the correct lubricant for the job. Applying the wrong lubricant can cause more harm then good. Synthetic lubricants consist of oils that are used primarily in engines with many moving components. Grease lubricants are added primarily to bearings to keep them in rotation, and a lack of grease lubricant can result anywhere from costly repairs to devastating damage. Hydraulic lubricants are used in machinery to induce pressure and maintain force. There are different brands of each lubricant that have different viscosity levels that contain different amounts of certain elements. The machinery under maintenance will have a manual that specifies which type of lubricants to use.
For example, our machine stator winding machine ND-TS-1A use 20# lubricant oil, and Middle forming machine ND-ZJ160 use 46# hydraulic oil,
3. Apply the lubricant according to directions specified in the manual. Adding too much lubricant can make components slip and result in costly damage. Some machinery components may have to be removed to apply lubricant properly.
